The IntreccioTable was designed by Paolo Portoghesi for Matrix International in 2016 and introduced at the Milan Design Week that same year. "The Intreccio aims to generate a form by building upon the constructive and formal potentialities of the three materials used: the porosity of cast iron at the base, the light and the vaporous surface of birch, the glossiness of marble and glass. The arboreal inspiration acts as a catalyst and rules the composition by connecting the earth to the sky, as in a tree.” The eight flowing limbs of the Intreccio have assembled asymmetrically and intertwined in the middle, thus creating a dynamic composition. The empty middle cast iron base enhances the organic form of the table, which provides a sense of grounding through its molded edge. Made in Italy by Matrix International. Dimensions: 47": Height 28 1/2" Diameter 47 1/4" 54": Height 28 1/2" Diameter 54" Materials: Dining height table. Black or white cast iron base with birch plywood frame. Top in glass, laminate, Carrara marble, or Calacatta Vagli Oro marble.
